Pastor's Note

If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross (daily), and follow me.
Matthew 16:24

1 Corinthians 1:17-18

For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

 1 Corinthians 2:1-5

And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

"Co-Crucifixion and The Privilege of The Exchanged Life"

The bulk of our preparation to do anything in the church has to be our death (spiritual).
It wasn’t the power that Christ possessed that saved us but it was the emptying of the power.
It’s the emptying of your right where Christ love is shown up in your life.
